MANILA – Vice Ganda admitted he no longer gets crazy over the pressure that his movie should be the top-grosser in the annual Metro Manila Film Festival.
His movie “Gandarrapiddo: The Revenger Squad” is one of the official entries of the MMFF along with seven other full-length films. The Star Cinema and Viva Films co-production also stars Daniel Padilla and Pia Wurtzbach.
Ang pressure sa akin ngayon is laging maganda ‘yung movie,” he said.
Vice Ganda said he has had a streak of successful comedy movies that he just wants to maintain what he has already started.
Kasi ‘yun ang pinanghahawakan nila,” he said.
Kumbaga papanoorin ko ito kasi natawa ako last year. Nandoon ang pressure,” he added.
When asked how his movies are different from each other, Vice Ganda explained that each of his film is patterned to present-day situations.
Kung ano ‘yung relevant ngayon, doon kami naka-concentrate. Nag-iiba din naman ang taste ng audience. Since araw-araw nasa ‘Showtime’ ako, alam na alam ko ‘yung trip nila kaya sigurado akong hindi nauulit ‘yung ginagawa namin,” he said.
Meanwhile, Vice Ganda said it would just be a bonus if “The Revenger Squad” would be another blockbuster hit.
“Siyempre masaya kung malampasan. Gusto ko rin iyon. Kaya nga nagke-claim ako. Pinangungunahan ko na P1 billion. Kine-claim ko lang naman,” he said. “Kaibigan ko for the past years ang universe.
Directed by Joyce Bernal, “Gandarrapiddo: The Revenger Squad” will open in theaters nationwide on Christmas Day.
